    With technology today, most homebuyers are starting their own home searches online. Almost all buyers are searching on REALTOR.ca, Canada’s most popular real estate platform, and sending a list of homes they want to see to their agent. Unlike the past when listings were only visible to REALTORS®, the public has access to view any listing on Realtor.ca. All of Purplebricks’ listings are on Realtor.ca, and are also posted on Purplebricks.ca, which gets an average of 1.6 million visits per month!

  5. 5 What does it mean that I pay a “fixed fee” to sell my home?

    At Purplebricks, we charge you a fixed fee for our services, rather than a percentage of your home’s value. Whether your home is $400,000 or $4 million, our fees never change. As for cooperating commission, the choice is yours! Your Purplebricks agent will review the market conditions in your area and discuss your options with you, but the fact remains, the average commission savings for our home sellers is $13,500*.

  7. 7 How long will my house be on the market if I use Purplebricks?

    The brokerage listing a property doesn’t have much to do with the length of time it spends on the market. The three main influencers of how long it takes to sell are: if a maximum number of buyers can easily find it online (great advertising on Purplebricks.ca and REALTOR.ca helps!), if it’s priced right (see the previous question!), and if it shows well. We’ve also designed our processes for the utmost efficiency: with our Offer and Negotiation service and our use of digital sign-back technology, you can rest assured that everything will be handled with lightning speed.   8. 8 Do I have to pay Purplebricks a commission to sell my home?

    No – not even when you read the fine print. We’re a fixed-fee brokerage, which means our sellers will never pay us a percentage of their selling price. Of course, when it comes to offering a cooperating commission to buyer’s agents, the choice is yours, but your Purplebricks agent will review the market conditions in your area and discuss your options with you.

    Not at all! Our team of local REALTORS® and real estate professionals are working for you at every step of your sale. Once you’ve had your virtual listing appointment, our Customer Support team is here to help with any questions you may have. Our Showings team will manage all the details of setting up virtual showings of your home, and when an offer comes in, the Offer and Negotiation team that specializes in this part of the sale will ensure you get the best offer!

    A misconception about Purplebricks is that we are a DIY real estate brokerage, or that we are FSBO (For Sale By Owner) to use real estate industry jargon. Purplebricks is a full-service real estate brokerage, much like other real estate brokerages. What sets us apart is our business model that allows us to charge a low, fixed fee for selling your home, rather than a percentage of your home’s value. Whether your home is $400,000 or $4 million, our fees never change.

  12. 12 Why do I have to pay the listing fee up front?

    With the guidance of our team through every stage of your sale, we’re confident you’ll sell. We simply charge a low fixed fee up front to cover the cost of listing your property and getting the exposure you need in today’s market. It’s a little like taking a vacation on a 5-star resort: you pay upfront, then relax and enjoy the experience! Then, you’ll only pay the additional fixed fee when we successfully close the deal on your home.

  13. 13 How can you charge so little? What’s the catch?

    No catch! We provide in-house marketing and advertising services to our real estate agents so they don’t have to spend their valuable time looking for new clients – that eliminates their individual marketing costs and frees up their time to take on more clients. Our cutting-edge technology also allows them to focus on their homebuyers and sellers, while a centralized team gathers leads and provides customer support – that cuts out the need to pay for multiple traditional branch offices. All told, these differences allow us to pass on impressive cost savings to our customers.

  15. 15 Does Purplebricks cooperate with other REALTORS®?

    Purplebricks is proud to cooperate with REALTORS® from other brokerages. Just because we charge a fixed fee for our services, instead of a percentage based on the value of the home, doesn’t mean we think buyers’ agents shouldn’t be paid. This is a big misconception about Purplebricks.

    Many of our REALTORS® worked at other brokerages prior to joining the Purplebricks team, so they know the importance of cooperating commission in relation to an agent’s livelihood. Plus, we know that offering a cooperating commission helps get buyers through the door, so we encourage our sellers to offer a competitive commission for their area.   16. 16 How do your agents get paid?

    Our business model allows each of our REALTORS® to hundreds of listings per year, compared to the single- or double-digit number of deals the average REALTOR® completes. How can our REALTORS® do so many deals each year? Because we have in-office staff who handle lead generation, customer support, and marketing. A typical real estate agent spends most of his time soliciting while our REALTORS® get to do what they do best each and every day - interact with home sellers and buyers!

    So, just as it’s important to provide incredible savings and outstanding service to our clients, equally important is caring for our amazing team. That’s why we offer our experienced real estate agents enhanced compensation packages for a job well done.
