2 How does Purplebricks get me the best price for my home?
Our local REALTORS® are well-informed about your market – they’re constantly studying market conditions because they provide complete Comparative Market Analyses for each of the hundreds of properties they list in a year. They know what’s currently on the market, what has sold, what’s not selling, and how prices are trending at any given time, so your home will be priced to be both on-point and competitive!
3 How long will my house be on the market if I use Purplebricks?
The brokerage listing a property doesn’t have much to do with the length of time it spends on the market. The three main influencers of how long it takes to sell are: if a maximum number of buyers can easily find it online (great advertising on Purplebricks.ca and REALTOR.ca helps!), if it’s priced right (see the previous question!), and if it shows well and has stunning photos (we provide HDR photos of your home – the best in the industry!). We’ve also designed our processes for the utmost efficiency: with the option of our offerAssist® service and our use of digital sign-back technology, you can rest assured that offers and negotiations will be handled with lightning speed. In fact, we have hundreds of testimonials from clients who were thrilled to sell much faster than they’d expected!
4 Do I have to pay Purplebricks a commission to sell my home?
No – not even when you read the fine print. We’re a fixed-fee brokerage, which means our sellers will never pay us a percentage of their selling price. Of course, when it comes to offering a cooperating commission to buyer’s agents, the choice is yours, but your Purplebricks agent will review the market conditions in your area and discuss your options with you.
5 How do Purplebricks real estate agents compare to agents from other brokerages?
Our agents are members of the Canadian Real Estate Association (meaning they’re accredited REALTORS®) and belong to many of the same real estate boards as other agents, giving them access to all the same information about your market. In fact, many of our agents used to work for more conventional brokerages but wanted to spend less time in the office and more time working with clients. And because each of our agents is dedicated to one area of either the selling or buying process, they’ve got tons of experience and are exceptional at what they do! 6 Will Purplebricks help me with my asking price?
You can be sure of it. Purplebricks agents live and work in your local market and scour the data every day to know what’s selling and what’s not. After we’ve seen your home’s unique qualities, we’ll provide you with a customized Comparative Market Analysis and pricing strategy to help you reach your unique selling goals. And even though you’re saving thousands of dollars in commission, that doesn’t mean you have to sell for less than you would with any other brokerage: we price your home according to its market value, not according to our fee structure.
7 Do I have to do everything myself?
Not at all! Our team of local REALTORS® and real estate professionals are working with you at every step of your sale. Once you’ve had your listing appointment, there are a few steps for you to complete online, such as providing a description of your home, but our Customer Support team is here to help with any questions you may have. Since not every seller and not every sale is the same, we also offer optional levels of support: you can choose to let us handle everything from your showings to your negotiations and paperwork.
8 Why do I have to pay the listing fee up front?
With the guidance of our team through every stage of your sale, we’re confident you’ll sell. We simply charge a low fixed fee up front to cover the cost of listing your property and getting the exposure you need in today’s market. It’s a little like taking a vacation on a 5-star resort: you pay upfront, then relax and enjoy the experience! Then, if you wish to leave the offers and negotiations in the hands of capable agents by opting in to offerAssist®, you’ll only pay the additional fixed fee when we successfully close the deal on your home.
9 How can you charge so little? What’s the catch?
No catch! We provide in-house marketing and advertising services to our real estate agents so they don’t have to spend their valuable time looking for new clients – that eliminates their individual marketing costs and frees up their time to take on more clients. Our cutting-edge technology also allows them to work in the field with homebuyers and sellers, while a centralized team gathers leads and provides customer support – that cuts out the need to pay for multiple traditional branch offices. All told, these differences allow us to pass on impressive cost savings to our customers.
10 If you don’t charge commission, how do your agents get paid?
At Purplebricks, we successfully complete thousands of real estate transactions each year, so rest assured we keep our agents busy! Our customers and our people are at the heart of everything we do. So, just as it’s important to provide incredible savings and outstanding service to our clients, equally important is caring for our amazing team.
